You Can't Make This Stuff Up
Well -- you can -- but this is from CNN's website, as of a couple of minutes ago.
I like Photoshop as much as the next person, but I'm not responsible for this one.
It is interesting, though, that nearly all of the still photos of Jackson being used on Network Teevee; the graphics of him connected to his memorial service; and the majority of the video segments being shown, are of the pre-op Michael -- prior to his metamorphosis from a recognizably African-American pop artist into something ... well, something not that.
In truth, it doesn't matter what images anyone uses to remember him. I can see now that part of Jackson's artistry was in making as radical a change from his Jackson-Five past and self as possible -- including things gender- and genre-specific, and that included the most extreme changes to his physical appearance. And, like many artists, he became a victim of his own metamorphosis in the end.
